I help moms stop drowning in overwhelm, and start enjoying motherhood.
Hey There…
I remember this picture so vividly…It was 2015 and my first Mother’s Day as a mom of two. And boy, was I struggling.
As a type-A mom who once believed I could manage everything—motherhood humbled me. The early days felt like a blur of sleepless nights, scattered toys, and an endless to-do list that never seemed to shrink. I remember standing in the middle of my living room, overwhelmed by the chaos, wondering if I'd ever feel in control again. It was a horrible feeling…and no one prepared me for this!
Then I started becoming this “angry mom” that I never dreamed I’d be!
But there I was — laying in bed, fighting back tears (again), after yelling my way through another chaotic bedtime.
It was the same cycle on repeat: picking up messes, wrestling instead of brushing teeth, backtalk over pajamas… and me, completely out of patience. My throat would ache from yelling. The guilt would set in the moment I shut their bedroom doors.
I’d spiral — wondering if I was ruining them with my anger. Wondering what kind of mom I had become. I wasn’t always this way. I used to be calm, even-tempered… but motherhood changed me in ways I didn’t expect. I felt like I was drowning in resentment, shame, and exhaustion.
And I was so, so unhappy.
But deep down, I didn’t want to stay stuck in that cycle. I wanted to show up with more peace, more patience, more love — not just for my kids, but for myself too…
That’s why I started Kristen Mattison Coaching + This Routine Life
Here, I help moms like you — moms who feel overwhelmed, reactive, and disconnected from the mom they want to be — find relief through realistic routines, small mindset shifts, and honest conversations. Because I believe you can break the cycle. You can feel more in control, more grounded, and more like you again.
Motherhood isn’t meant to drain you.
You deserve to enjoy your kids — not just survive them.
And I’m here to help you take the first step toward that kind of motherhood.
By making routines and self-care a priority in my life, I’ve accomplished the following:
I’ve become an early morning riser (4:15am) and follow a morning routine that sets my day up for success.
I exercise 3-5 times a week on a consistent basis - no more going hard for a month then doing nothing for a month.
Since 2019, I’ve helped thousands of moms through This Routine Life and I’ve stuck with it over the years, even when I had little time or energy to give.
I stopped drinking and am celebrating almost six years of sobriety.
I’m confident in my parenting and rarely waste time in guilt, shame and self-criticism.
I yell less and I’m not as reactive to my kids behavior resulting in better relationships.
I’ve learned how to make guilt-free “me time” on a daily basis, allowing me to take part in the things that bring me joy.

I’m here to help you break free from survival mode. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, reactive, or like you’ve lost touch with the mom you want to be — you’re not alone.
Together, we’ll create realistic routines, shift your mindset in small but powerful ways, and have honest conversations that help you feel more grounded and in control.
Because you deserve to enjoy motherhood, not just survive it.
